CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A Cedar Rapids group is organizing holiday meals for people in need.
Bridge Under the Bridge teamed up with Sugarfire Barbecue and Hope's Bridal to offer meals in a parking lot under an elevated section of I-380.
The food was provided for 32 families on Sunday.
Bridge Under the Bridge also held its first annual toy drive in conjunction with the meal giveaway.
The organization serves hundreds of hot meals daily. One of its main functions is promotion of food security. The Bridge Under the Bridge website says one of its goals is to ensure that the most vulnerable and at-risk groups in the Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas have their basic needs taken care of.
