(Vinton, IA) - The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is looking into the death of a Vinton man, who was found this weekend.
The Iowa Department of Public Safety says deputies with the Benton County Sheriff's Office responded to a house in rural Vinton to a request for a welfare check Saturday morning around 9 a.m.
They say when they arrived they found the dead body of a man, identified as 84-year-old James Howard Bright.
The Iowa State Patrol is assisting in the investigation.
The IDPS says they don't believe there is any threat to the public.
