WEST DES MOINES, Iowa - Iowa based Hy-Vee stores is pledging $75,000 for schools in a new campaign.
Customers who buy designated items with their Hy-Vee gas cards are entered into the "Fuel Your School" sweepstakes.
Winners earn money to be awarded to the school of their choice, as well as a smaller amount to keep for themselves.
Hy-Vee says 55 schools across eight states will receive money in the sweepstakes, which will end on January 31st.
In February, 50 winners will receive up to $200 in prizes and $1,000 awarded to the school of their choice. Five Grand Prize winners will get to $500 in prizes and $5,000 awarded to the school of their choice.
Hy-Vee says the campaign is meant to help schools that are struggling to deal with hardships brough on by COVID-19.
