Republicans will hold on to a State Senate seat after a Special Election in Southeast Iowa.
Adrian Dickey is set to head to the Iowa Senate, representing District 41 and replacing Mariannette Miller-Meeks after her election to Congress.
According to the unofficial results from Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate, Dickey defeated Democrat Mary Stewart by just under 1,000 votes.
He'll face re-election in 2022. Republicans will maintain a 32-18 advantage in the Iowa Senate.
