"Keep and Bear Arms" amendment set to be on ballot in 2022

Iowa voters will have a new amendment to the state constitution to consider in 2022.

The state House and Senate passed the amendment along party lines, which declares the "right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed...Any and all restrictions of this right shall be subject to strict scrutiny."

If passed, Iowa would be the fourth state in the country to "strict scrutiny" language for gun rights in its Constitution.
