Reynolds Signs Bill Requiring Schools to Offer In-person Classes Full-time

(Des Moines, Iowa) -- Iowa public schools are now required to offer full-time, in-person classes.

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds signed into law a bill requiring schools to offer 100% in-person classes as an option.

The bill passed the Iowa Legislature along party lines Thursday night.

Under the new law, schools are still allowed to offer remote learning and hybrid learning models, but must also offer in-person classes five days a week. Parents still have the option to choose online-only learning.

Schools must begin offering 100% in-person classes by February 15th.
