IOWA - Iowa continues to improve its delivery of COVID-19 vaccinations into the arms of people.
About 60 percent of the doses sent to the states had been administered to people as of Monday morning, an increase from a week ago.
The state's also vaccinated almost eight percent of its residents, although most surrounding states have a higher percentage.
The number of doses sent to the state is roughly in line with its rank in population nationally. Governor Kim Reynolds has stated that the state was 46th in number of vaccines received, a claim not backed up by the latest information.
The data is from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), which is responsible for the administration of the vaccines.
Iowa's new COVID-19 vaccination page shows the state has administered 254,043 doses, more than the 252,202 listed by the CDC.
Iowa's vaccination page does not include the number of vaccines sent to the state, while CDC data shows that number to be 417,900.
The CDC date shows it has distributed 49,933,250 vaccines across the country.
