Iowa House Passes Pledge of Allegiance Requirement

DES MOINES, Iowa - Iowa schools could soon be required by law to conduct the Pledge of Allegiance.

The state House overwhelming passed a bill Tuesday calling for schools to conduct the pledge and show a U.S. flag everyday.

It does not require students to recite the pledge .

The bill from Republican Carter Nordmam of Adel Bohannan passed by a 91-to-3 margin, and now heads to the Iowa Senate.
