(Des Moines, Iowa) -- Local blood centers are asking for donations as winter weather across the country has led to decreased supply.
LifeServe Blood Center in Des Moines says operations have been suspended for multiple days in parts of the country experiencing severe winter weather. The blood shortage is expected to continue for several more days.
Eligible donors are urged to schedule appointments as soon as possible. LifeServe has already sent donations to blood centers across the country facing limited supply.
