(Ottumwa, Iowa) -- An Ottumwa man is in custody after police say he brought a gun to a pre-school and pretended to be a law enforcement officer.
The Ottumwa Police Department says 40 year-old Jason Haut entered the Pickwick Early Childhood Center on February 24th and was seen carrying a holstered handgun. Police say he never drew the gun or made any threats to students or staff.
Haut was arrested Tuesday morning and faces multiple charges, including three counts of felon in possession of a firearm, carrying weapons on school grounds, carrying weapons, and impersonating a public official.
