CORALVILLE, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Corrections is confirming the death of an inmate who had served 30 years of a 50-year sentence.
The department say prisoner Harry Pedersen was 73 when he passed away from natural causes at the Iowa Medical and Classification Center in Coralville.
Pedersen was convicted on multiple charges of Sexual Abuse, and began serving his sentence in 1991.
The department says COVID-19 did not play a role in his death.
