Rain, Snow, Fire Possible Across Nebraska Today

OMAHA, Nebraska -- Cooler, spring-like temperatures to the west and extreme fire danger to the east of Omaha are in the forecast today.

The National Weather Service says temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s in the northern part of the state as a cold front moves east.

Snow is possible near the South Dakota border behind the front.

They say record warm and dry conditions ahead of the front in Southeast Nebraska and Southwest Iowa will lead to extreme fire danger.

It's going to be windy, too.

They say 45 to 55 miles per hour wind gusts, combined with low relative humidity could create the conditions for extreme fire danger this afternoon.
