(Des Moines, Iowa) -- The trial of the man accused of murdering a mother and her two children who were living in his basement in Des Moines had ended in a mistrial.
The jury had been deliberating on three counts of murder in the deaths of the 29 year old mother and her children, ages 11 and 5. The jury was unable to convict on the two murder charges for the deaths of the children.
Marvin Esquivel Lopez, also known as Marvin Escobar Orellana, can be re-tried, and the charges against him have not been dismissed.
