(Polk County, IA) -- Increased supplies and a dip in demand means it's getting a lot easier to get a COVID-19 vaccine. Nola Aigner-Davis of Polk County Health tells WHO Radio News that it's become much easier to schedule an appointment and she encourages everyone to do so.
Click Here for more info about coronavirus and ways to schedule an appointment. Polk County is hosting a vaccination clinic this Saturday, April 24th from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at New Hope United Methodist Church at 4525 Beaver Avenue in Des Moines.

Aigner-Davis says cases of COVID-19 in Polk County have fallen, but they are seeing some cases of the fast-spreading UK variant. The state has also recorded the Brazil variant. COVID-19 shots have proven effective against both variants.
Aigner-Davis agrees with state health officials who said last week that there are some Iowans who are hesitant to get a vaccine for a variety of reasons. Health officials are trying to get the message out about the benefits of the vaccine outweighing any possible, minor side effects.
