(Des Moines, IA) -- A family in Des Moines is struggling and will have a hard time fixing their home after a fire last week.
Zakaria Mahad had lost his job because of the COVID-19 pandemic and WHO-13 he also lost his insurance policy on the house in February because he couldn't make the payments.
The fire last week started in one of Mahad's five kids' upstairs bedrooms, causing thousands of dollars in damage.
The Red Cross has placed the family in a hotel room for the next couple days. But the family say they are not sure what they will do after.
The Mahad family has set up a GoFundMe page for help.
