(Des Moines, Iowa) -- A man is safe after driving his truck into the Des Moines river to avoid hitting another vehicle.
Des Moines Police say the driver was able to climb out of the truck and stand on top of it to wait for rescue. The Des Moines Fire Department's Water Emergency Team was able to reach him quickly.
No word yet on whether or not the man was injured.
