Iowa - Iowa's free fishing weekend starts Friday.
The state Department of Natural Resources says people can try fishing without buying a license through Sunday.
Fishing licenses hit a record last summer during the pandemic, while hunting licenses dropped.
The DNR says Iowa has hundreds of lakes and thousands of miles of rivers available for fishing.
“Lots of people caught the excitement of fishing last spring,” said Joe Larscheid, chief of the Iowa DNR’s Fisheries Bureau. “Hook more memories in 2021. Grab your tackle box, take the family, and get your lines in the water.”
