(Ankeny, Iowa) -- An Ankeny man is in custody after police say he impersonated a police officer and drove recklessly.
Police say 18 year-old Alex Passick was speeding through a neighborhood when a resident yelled at him to slow down. Witnesses say Passick then showed a badge and claimed to be a homicide detective before driving away.
Police say officers later pulled him over and found the badge, a loaded gun, and prescription pills in Passick's car.
He's facing multiple charges, including impersonating a public official, carrying weapons, possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of prescription drugs.
