(Ankeny, IA) -- Police are investigating another homemade explosive device found in Ankeny. This times a 9-year-old girl found it Wednesday in the street on the 1400 block of Southeast Waywin Drive. The girl ran home and told her mother; who then called the police. The device was removed and no one was hurt. An explosion late Sunday night shocked some neighbors and a pipe bomb was found in March at a polling place. Ankeny Police sent a letter to residents asking them to be mindful of suspicious objects and people in the area.
