(Waukee, IA) -- Waukee has opened a cooling center during extremely hot temperatures at the city's Public Safety Building. The city website says the cooling center on 300 SE L.A. Grant Parkway is open for people needing to seek refuge from the heat during the week. The center is open Monday-Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
