(Des Moines, IA) -- A 68-year-old Des Moines man's in critical condition after a car-vs-motorcycle crash in Des Moines early Sunday morning. Police say the man was operating a motorcycle in the 17-hundred block of University Avenue he was hit by a car driven by 34-year-old Tina Marie Clark of Des Moines. Police officers performed CPR at the scene until medics arrived and were able to regain a pulse, and transport the man to a Des Moines hospital.
Police say preliminary findings, including witness statements and examination of evidence at the scene, indicate that the motorcycle was traveling westbound on University Avenue when an eastbound Nissan Altima, Clark turned left, directly in the motorcycles path. The motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the Nissan.
Clark is facing the following charges:
OWI – 1 st Offense
Serious injury By Motor Vehicle – OWI
Failure To Yield Upon Left Turn
