Dozens Protest Health and Sex Education at Nebraska School Board Meeting

(Omaha, NE) -- Parents and young adults want different things in Nebraska's health education curriculum. A community organizer for OutNebraska says the information taught in public school systems is not enough to help youths succeed. Dozens protested at the State Board of Education meeting today in Lincoln, holding signs and making comments.

One side says sex education is necessary to prevent bullying, suicide, unprotected sex, and sexually transmitted diseases. Others support the new curriculum for leaving out the most controversial points.
