(Dubuque, IA) -- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says more than 400 people have died from drug overdoses in Iowa this year. The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting a 36-percent jump in deaths due to opioids in Iowa.
The Drug Enforcement Administration reports a larger spread of fentanyl and drugs during the pandemic leading to deaths. The DEA says they have had to have conversations about drug dangers with children as young as kindergarten ages.
The DEA has seized over three thousand pills in Iowa in 2021 so far.
