(Lincoln, NE) -- Two more Lincoln residents have died of suspected drug overdoses.

The Lincoln Police Department, Lincoln Fire and Rescue, and other public health officials issued a drug overdose alert on Thursday. The drug alert encouraged people to keep Narcan on them- an emergency overdose treatment. Drug overdose cases have been rising in Lincoln.

Lincoln Police say a 22-year-old and 29-year-old died only 10 hours after the alert was issued.

Police say cocaine users who have overdosed have unknowingly ingested fentanyl. Fentanyl can lead to overdosing and death in small amounts.

Signs of overdoses can include: constricted pupils, loss of consciousness, shallow breathing, and cold skin said the Lincoln Health Department.
