(Boone County, IA) -- A drone helped locate a kayaker who was reported missing on the Des Moines River Sunday night.
Police say they received a call about an 18-year-old who was separated from his group, and they were worried because they had been drinking.
An off-duty deputy came to assist the search with a drone he was certified to fly. The drone found the the boy in a wooded area along the river.
Police say the boy was cited with minor in possession of alcohol and is safe with his family.
