(Des Moines, IA) -- A new community recreation center is coming to Des Moines's north side. On Monday the city council approved a nearly 175-thousand dollar plan for an architecture firm to design the center. It will be located off of 11th Street at the current location of the Grubb YMCA and Brian Melton Field. The entire project will cost about 12-million dollars.
