(Des Moines, IA) -- Des Moines police are identifying a man who died after being shot on the city's south side. Police say they found 43-year-old Javier Moncada of Des Moines dead in the 19-hundred block of Hartford Avenue near the Des Moines River during a welfare check Monday evening at 6 p.m.
Police say the death was the result of a homicide, the city's 5th so far this year.
No arrests have been made.
