(Allamakee County, IA) -- A motorcyclist is dead after being hit by a kayak that came off a moving trailer in northeast Iowa. The Iowa State Patrol says 75-year-old John Thein of Guttenberg was hit by the kayak, yesterday (Sunday) shortly before 11 a.m. while traveling in Allamakee County, south of Rossville.
The Patrol says a Ford F-150 and trailer loaded kayaks was headed south on County Road X26, when one kayak separated from the trailer and struck Thein, who was traveling north at the time.
