(Iowa City, IA) -- A former Iowa Hawkeye is premiering a new documentary about the state of Iowa's first black student athlete, Frank Kinney Holbrook.
He went to the University of Iowa and led the team to their first conference championship.
"They were making a movie about Nile Kinnick, asking if I wanted to be involved," says Quinn Early, former Iowa wide receiver. "After I got off the phone I just started doing my own research and came across this picture. It was the 1895 Iowa Hawkeyes [football team] and in the corner was [Holbrook]."
'The Shoulders of Giants' premiered at Tipton High School Sunday.
