Fort Dodge man charged with Attempted Murder after robbery, gunfire

(Fort Dodge, IA) -- A Fort Dodge man's been charged with Attempted Murder after an overnight robbery. Police were called to the 100 block of North 22nd Street around 12:30 this (Monday) morning to investigate a robbery. While there, officers heard gunshots in the 10 block of North 7th Street. Witnesses told police say the shots came from someone in a silver Ford Mustang. Police say there were no injuries but a vehicle was damaged by gunfire.

Officers later arrested 29-year-old John E. Jackson of Fort Dodge. He's been charged with Attempted Murder and is being held in the Webster County Jail.

Jackson appeared in Webster County court this morning and has been ordered held on a $100,000 bond.
