Council Bluffs Police say the K-9, which fell 3 stories from the roof of an abandoned building while on duty Monday, is recovering after surgery for a broken femur and tibia.
The surgery was performed by Iowa State University veterinarians.
His fellow Bluffs officers say Rudy, trained in narcotics and apprehensions, will be off his paws for the next two weeks and will be back to work in two months.
