(Des Moines, IA) -- Health leaders around Des Moines are noticing a decrease in kids coming in for routine vaccines.
These routine shots can be for a variety of diseases, including measles and mumps.
"One of the last things that we want to see is some of these diseases roaring back while we're still trying to put the kibosh onto this pandemic," says Dr. Nathan Boonstra, Blank Children’s Hospital General Pediatrician.
He says a lot of these appointments were originally pushed back at the start of the pandemic, but have not been rescheduled.
