(Polk County, Iowa) -- Three people are in custody after a report of a gun in a vehicle at Saydel High School prompted the school to lock down.
The Polk County Sheriff's Department says it received a call about the gun inside the vehicle around 7:45 Tuesday morning, and when deputies arrived, the car sped away and eventually crashed. The Sheriff's Office says after the crash, all three occupants, one adult female and two juvenile males, fled the scene on foot but were quickly arrested. The Sheriff's Office has confirmed that weapons were found inside the vehicle.
Saydel High School was cleared to end the lockdown and resume its normal schedule around 8am. There were no injuries.
