(West Des Moines) -- Two people are in the hospital after a fire at an extended stay hotel in West Des Moines.
The West Des Moines Fire Department says they received reports of a fire at the Valley West Inn around 11:15 Monday night. When firefighters arrived, they found smoke and flames coming from inside the building, and it took additional fire crews from surrounding suburbs to help evacuate the hotel's 132 occupied rooms.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
