(Des Moines, IA) -- A person is dead after a shooting in east Des Moines near Laurel Hill Cemetery. Police responded to multiple calls of gun shots heard in the 1600 block of Hull Avenue Friday morning just before 6:00. Police say they found a person suffering from a gunshot injury. Police and firefighters reportedly tried to aid the person but they died at the scene. No arrests have been reported. This is the ninth homicide of 2021.
