(Urbandale, IA) -- A Des Moines area non-profit group is trying replace thousands of for families grieving the death of a loved one. Tray Wade of Every Step says volunteers had gathered to assemble hundreds of holiday gift boxes, when they realized thieves had broken into a warehouse and had taken gifts intended to provide some holiday cheer. Wade says thieves also stole two vehicles and electronics. Volunteers are now scrambling to replace the items. He says monetary donations are welcome.
Urbandale Police are investigating the theft.
