(Omaha, NE) -- After abandoning her son with severe autism, an Omaha mother could face up to three years in jail.
A warrant was issued for Denise Plants in March, she faces a charge of abuse of a vulnerable adult after recently turning herself in.
Prosecutors said Plants left her nonverbal son with severe autism in horrible conditions and that the adult has the mental capacity of a three year old.
Plants left a note in her mobile home to her estranged husband listing her son's medication.
She also left a second note to no one stating her son is non-verbal with autism, is 21-years-old, and listed his dad's email as a contact.
