(Indianapolis, IA) -- No. 2 Michigan dominated No. 13 Iowa 42-3 in the Big 10 Championship Saturday night. The 39-point loss marks the largest defeat under Head Coach Kirk Ferentz since his inaugural season in 1999.

Both Iowa quarterbacks had the opportunity to play under center, but neither saw success.

Spencer Petras led the Hawkeye offense to a Caleb Shudak 22-yard field goal in the first half. Petras completed 9 of 22 attempts for 137 yards.

Alex Padilla replaced QB 1 in the third quarter, where Iowa wouldn't score again. Padilla completed 10 of 15 passes for 38 yards, tossing in an interception along the way.

Iowa running back Gavin Williams led the rushing attack with 56 yards on 12 carries, with Tyler Goodson adding 50 yards on 18 carries.

The Hawkeyes drop to 10-3 on the year with the loss, but Iowa faithful won't need to wait long to put a name to the next opponent.

Following the release of the final College Football Playoff rankings on ESPN at 11:00 am CT, Iowa will know their bowl game destination Sunday afternoon.
