(Undated) -- Renters in Illinois can now get financial help from the state. Today the Illinois Housing Development Authority reopened the Illinois Rental Payment Program. Through the program renters who've been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic can receive money from the state to help pay their rent. The program first opened back in May and paid renters over $500-million. This round of help is expected to pay out over $250-million. Applications can be submitted through January 9th at illinoishousinghelp.org.
