(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- The City of Cedar Rapids is holding a demolition ceremony for the Banjo Block property downtown.
Real estate developer TWG will start construction on a $49 million mixed income, multi-family housing property across from the Cedar Rapids Public Library after the property is demolished.
The city says this development has been in the works for decades. The ceremony will kick off demolition next Wednesday, December 15th at 515 4th Ave at 2 p.m.
