(Iowa City, IA) -- A sports club in Iowa City raised over $12,000 to support a local high school coach with cancer.
“It’s pretty crazy to see all the people show up to support me,” Skyler Moss tells KCRG. “We’ve got a big helping community which is great and to walk in and see all these people that were here at 9:30, it’s pretty crazy. It really fills the heart.”
Skyler Moss is an assistant coach for the sophomore baseball team at City High. Moss is battling stage 4 lung cancer, and has new tumors in his head.
The North Dodge Athletic Club held a silent auction on Saturday, which included items such as Iowa Hawkeye tickets, memorabilia, and other items donated by the community and Athletic Club.
