(Cedar Rapids, IA) -- More adults in Iowa are getting their COVID-19 booster shot than most of its neighboring states.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, of the 6 states bordering Iowa, only Minnesota has a larger percentage of their population fully vaccinated.
In Iowa, 70% of adults are vaccinated, with 40% of adults having received their booster shot as well.
People 18 years of age or older can receive a booster shot from Pfizer or Moderna six months after receiving their second dose of the vaccine, or from Johnson & Johnson two months after receiving their single-dose. Those 16 and 17 can also receive the Pfizer vaccine booster.
