(Cedar Rapids, Iowa) -- Cedar Rapids Police say a Cedar Rapids middle school student is under arrest for having a gun at school.
McKinley Middle School principal Jason Martinez informed parents the school worked with CRPD to quickly locate and secure the gun found on school premises. Cedar Rapids police tell KCRG TV-9 a student reported that another student had the gun on on school grounds.
The arrest comes on a day when many schools across the country are on alert due to nationwide anonymous social media threats.
