Mercy's also encouraging patients who do have symptoms to contact their family doctor's office before going to an urgent care clinic or the emergency room. Mercy's also encouraging tele-health appointments. Unity Point Health has issued the same recommendations. Iowa E-R's and walk-in clinics have been reporting long wait times, in part due to people seeking a coronavirus test.
