Omaha Police Captain Kathy Belcastro - Gonzalez is off the job pending the findings of an internal affairs investigation.
Belcastro - Gonzalez has been a plaintiff in a federal lawsuit against the City of Omaha, saying she was wrongfully passed over for a Deputy Chief promotion due to discrimination.
Police Chief Todd Schmaderer has said there is no merit to the accusations in her lawsuit.
The Police Department is declining comment on the personnel matter.
