(Des Moines, IA) -- The ACLU sent letters to 8 Iowa school districts Friday, telling them they're violating a court ruling on mask mandates.
ACLU says the January 25th ruling by the U.S Court of Appeals states mask requirements constitute reasonable modification, and these school's failure to provide modification violate the Rehabilitation Act.
Since, the court reinstated a ban on mask mandates in public schools, excluding children with disabilities.
The school districts receiving letters include Ankeny, Council Bluffs, Davenport, Decorah, Denver, Johnston, Linn-Mar, and Waterloo.
ACLU says the Des Moines Public School District and the Iowa City School District are following law and maintaining the court decision.
