Omaha Police homicide detectives say 26-year Davelle Giles of Omaha has been booked into Douglas County Corrections on suspicion of second-degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony in connection with the July 4th shooting death of 19-year old Jazsmine Washington.
Another person suffered non-life threatening injuries in the shooting.
Officers in the area of 24th & Lake Streets heard gunshots in the early morning hours on Independence Day last year and went to a parking lot nearby where they found the young woman, who had been shot.
