(Des Moines, IA) -- The Iowa State Patrol is asking drivers to slow down.
Sergeant Alex Dinkla tells WHO Radio News there have been at least 50 crashes in the Des Moines metro area since 5 a.m. Friday morning and that the roads are deceiving, the bridges and overpasses are still very icy.
One crash in Altoona caused I-80 eastbound to close for about 45 minutes after a delivery truck crashed into an abandoned pickup on the side of the road.
