The National Weather Service says the warm and dry conditions combine for a very high grassland fire danger through Monday.
Firefighters early Monday were busy with such a fire on the north side of Council Bluffs at the Interstate 29 - 25th Street interchange.
The risk is for portions of east central, southeast, and northeast Nebraska and southwest and west central Iowa.
