DES MOINES, Iowa -- Drought conditions in Iowa deepen a bit.
This week's National Drought Monitor map shows a new pocket of severe drought in Woodbury and Monona counties in Western Iowa.
There are still areas of moderate drought in Western, Eastern and Northern Iowa.
The new map shows about 85 percent of the state with some form of drought.
This week's map was put together before any of the rain that fell across the state late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.
